  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • embroidery needle
  • sport weight yarn in 5 colors (A: red, B: off-white,
  • C: green, D: yellow, E: blue)
  • 5 mm black eyes
  • soft stuffing/polyester fiberfill
  • string for hanging

Abbreviations

  • rnd - round
  • st-stitch
  • slst - slip stitch
  • Sc-single crochet
  • sc2tog - 2 st together with sc (decrease) BLO-in back loop only
  • - repeat from * to *x times

Color Change

  • Change the yarn while working the Last stitch in the initial color.
  • That is: Insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop.

Start with color A.

  • Rnd 1 :6 sc in magic ring
  • Rnd 2 :2 sc in next sc* 6x [12]
  • Rnd 3 :2 sc in next sc, 1 sc* 6x [18]
  • Rnd 4 :2 sc in next sc, 2 sc* 6x [24]
  • Rnd 5 :2 sc in next sc, 3 sc* 6x [30]
  • Rnd 6 :2 sc in next sc, 4 sc* 6x [36]
  • Rnd 7 :36 sc

Crochet X-mas Matryoshka Pattern

Change to color B.

  • Rnd 8 :2 sc in next sc, 5 sc* 6x [42]
  • Rnd 9 :2 sc in next sc, 6 sc* 6x [48] use color C for instructions in green font and color B for black.
  • Rnd 10 *1 sc, 3 sc* 12x
  • Rnd 11 *2 sc, 2 sc* 12x
  • Rnd 12 *3 sc, 1 sc* 12x

Change to color B and break yarn C.

  • Rnd 13 :sc2tog, 6 sc* 6x [42]

Embroider the trunks of the Christ- mas trees with vertical stitches in rnd g.

  • Continue with yarn B.
  • Rnd 14 :1 sc, {change to color A} 41 sc
  • Rnd 15 :sc2tog, 5 sc* 6x [36]
  • Rnd 16: 36 Sc

  • Rnd 18: 36 sc BLO use color D for instructions in yellow font and color B for black.
  • Rnd 19 :13 sc, 10 sc BLO, 13 sc
  • Rnd 20: 13 sc, 11 sc, 12 sc
  • Rnd 21: 13 sc, 11 sc, 12 sc
  • Rnd 22: 14 sc, 10 sc, 12 sc
  • Rnd 23 :15 sc, 8 sc, 13 sc
  • Rnd 24 :16 sc, 7 sc, 13 sc-

Place the eyes between rnd 21 and 22, 5 st apart (counted in rnd 21), and start stuffing.

Continue with color D.

  • Rnd 25 :sc2tog, 4 sc* 6x [30]
  • Rnd 26 :sc2tog, 3 sc* 6x [24]
  • Rnd 27 :24 SC
  • Rnd 28 :sc2tog, 2 sc* 6x [18]
  • Rnd 29 :sc2tog, 1 sc* 6x [12]
  • Rnd 30 :sc2tog* 6x [6]

Fasten off and close the remaining hole.

Finishing

  • Thread a needle with color E to make the border around the face.

2...through the yellow sc's from rud your 19 to 24. Insert needle under the right leg of the "V" post - except in rud 23, there insert under the left leg
