Here is a step-by-step crochet pattern for creating an adorable Pikachu.

Materials:

  • 5 mm crochet hook (adjust based on yarn)
  • Stitch marker
  • Yellow, brown, and red yarn
  • Eyes (size of your choice) or felt for details
  • Polyfill stuffing

Head and Body:

Round 1:

  • Create 7 single crochet (sc) in a magic ring.

Round 2:

  • Increase in each stitch around (14 stitches total).

Round 3:

  • Two sc, then an increase. Repeat around (28 stitches).

Round 5:

  • Three sc, then an increase. Repeat around (35 stitches).

Rounds 6-10:

  • Sc around.

Round 11:

  • Start with five sc, then do 6 increases to form one cheek, sc 4, do another 6 increases for the other cheek, then 14 sc to end (47 stitches).

Round 12:

  • Sc around.

Round 13:

  • Start decreasing around the cheeks: 5sc, decrease 6 times, 4 sc, decrease 6 times again, 14 sc to end (35 stitches).

Round 14:

  • Three sc, then a decrease, repeated for the round.

Round 15:

  • Two sc, then a decrease, repeated for the round (21 stitches).

Round 16:

  • Sc once, then decrease, repeat around (14 stitches).

Eyes:

  • Position between rounds 9-10, with 6 stitches between.

Body Continuation:

Round 17:

  • Increase in every stitch around (difficult because stitches are close).

Rounds 18-22:

  • Sc around.

Round 23:

  • Five sc, then an increase, repeated around (49 stitches).

Round 24:

  • Sc around.

Rounds 25:

  • Five sc, then a decrease, repeated around (42 stitches).

Rounds 26-31:

  • Continue decreasing as per pattern for gradually closing the body, with stuffing added progressively.

Feet:

Round 1:

  • Chain 5, then starting from the second chain from the hook, make a sc. Two sc in the final stitch, continuing around the other side for a total of 10 stitches.

Rounds 2-4:

  • Increase around, then sc for rounds, then decrease for forming the foot shape.

Hands:

Rounds 1-5:

  • Start with 4 sc in a magic ring, increase round, then follow the pattern for shaping hands before attaching to the body.

Ears:

  • Make 6 sc in a magic ring, increase, then switch to yellow yarn.

Tail:
