Required Materials:

  1. Hollow Cotton Yarn (1.5mm)
    • Lightweight and suitable for this project’s detailed flower design.
  2. Crochet Hook (2.5mm)
    • Perfect for creating tight and smooth stitches.

Important Notes:

  • The starting chain forms the base of the bag, so tension should remain even to avoid warping.
  • The flowers are created using a specific combination of chains, slip stitches, and double crochets. Pay close attention to repeated patterns.
  • A back loop only (BLO) stitch is used in Round 2, contributing unique texture to the bag.
  • Ensure you maintain the correct number of stitches in each round to keep the structure symmetrical.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Base of the Bag

  1. Start: Slip Knot
    • Make a slip knot and chain 36 stitches.
  2. Round 1 (R1): Double Crochet into Chain
    • Make 1 double crochet (dc) in the third chain from the hook.
    • Crochet 33 double crochets down the chain (1 in each stitch).
    • Into the last chain, make 3 double crochets.
    • Now work along the opposite side of the chain and crochet 32 double crochets (1 in each chain stitch).
    • In the last chain, make 2 double crochets.
    • Slip stitch at the end to join the round. (You’ll now have 70 stitches total.)
  3. Round 2 (R2): Back Loop Only (BLO)
    • Chain 2.

Adding the Flowers

  1. Round 3 (R3): Starting the Flowers
    • Chain 2.
    • Work 1 double crochet in the same stitch, then make 1 double crochet in the next 5 stitches.
    • In the next stitch, make the first flower petal:
      • Chain 2.
      • Make 2 double crochets, chain 2, then slip stitch into the same stitch.
      • This completes one petal of the flower.
    • Repeat this flower petal pattern 4 more times within the same stitch.
      • Each flower consists of 5 petals in total: (2ch, 2dc, 2ch, slip stitch).
    • After the flower, make 1 double crochet in the next 6 stitches.
    • Create the second flower using the same technique as the first (5 petals in the designated stitch).
    • Continue alternating between 6 double crochets and 1 flower around the entire round.
  2. Round 4 (R4): Stabilizing Round
    • Chain 2.
    • Make 1 double crochet in every stitch around (70 dc in total).
    • Slip stitch to join.
  3. Round 5 (R5): Adding More Flowers
